The red list we finally heard on Thursday evening is being emptied.

Effectively the seven countries that are on it will be taken off the list as from 4 a.m. on Monday morning the 1st of November. Those are Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, Venezuela, the Dominican Republic and Haiti. At the moment, be warned, they pose the highest risk to the UK,

and they will continue to do so until exactly 4 a.m. on Monday. So anybody coming in from those

countries will need to quarantine for 11 nights. That will be nearly £2,300. Thank you. The government says it has always been

guided by the science and therefore it must know something that I don't because effectively,

initially the red list was all about variance of concern. then it seemed to be about rates of coronavirus.

And now the only variant in town is the Delta variant.
