Hello, welcome to this very brief announcement that is being made here on the Theology

This is CR Wiley.

My friends, Glenn and Tom, are not with me right now because we're

not going to be doing a show. We're just going to be talking about a

conference that's being sponsored of my church. Trad Dad 2024. The theme of the conference is pro natalism, the pro-natal father, the

pro-natal church, just kind of basically why kids are great and why you should have

him. Anyway, I'm joined by Scott Jener who's a friend and he's one of

our speakers. Can you fill us in a little bit Scott on who you are and and what

you do? Yeah I'm a professor of political science at Boise State University.

I've written a couple books on the family.

One of them in 2009 called Family Politics and then one in 2020-ish, called the Recovery of Family Life. I've been operating in this

space for a long time and the issue of nacality is very interesting and important to me.

Yeah, well, that's why we invited you to address the subject.

Anyway, what can you tell us about kind of your approach to the subject and what should people expect to hear from me at the conference?

Yeah, I think there are several factors that are involved in determining n locality or birth rates or the desire to have kids.

And the first thing I do is put it in the philosophic context because Aristotle writes

about this and some of the great thinkers of the Scottish Enlightenment David Hume and

Montescu write about this and and we can kind of test their propositions based on our experience.
