So the dictionary definition of the word gobsmacked, which is British colloquial, is utterly astonished, astounded.

And the origin from the 1980s, believe it or not, is with reference to being shocked by a blow to the mouth or to clapping a hand to one's

mouth in astonishment.

So is that how we should react to the interview last week with Aaron Kaplan?

I always thought gobsmacked was like a giant, you know, lugi to the face, but maybe

not. The sound that a loogie makes when it hits your face for gobsmacked was like a giant, you know, lugi to the face, but maybe not.

The sound that a lugi makes when it hits your face, or gob.

Well, my gobb has been smacked after that, I'll tell you.
