If you are somebody who is living in England and you are coming into England from Sunday the 24th onwards, then the cost of your test after arrival is going to shrink a little bit, assuming you choose a lateral flow test instead of the current PCR requirement.

This applies at the moment and I'm recording this at 1 o'clock on Friday, only to

England. We haven't heard of any changes in Wales, in Scotland, Northern Ireland, although

that could happen. The government in England says this is a marvellous thing that's going to

reduce the cost of travel

and everyone will benefit from it. Well, it won't remove any hassle at all. It will still involve

things being stuck up your nose. It will simply reduce the cost a bit because you will get a

cheap lateral flow test. As always, this has to be one,

which you have paid for privately. For international travel, you cannot use NHS lateral flow

tests. And even if you are coming back into England, but you live in Wales, then you are still

going to have to abide by Welsh law.

We are expecting sometime on Friday a statement from the Welsh government about it.
