Hi friends, I am Annie F. Downs. Let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four

books of the New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These are the stories

of Jesus Christ's life on earth, the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the

miracles. Each month this year we get to read all four books here at Let's Read the Gospels,

work. I'm going to read three chapters to you today. You can listen, read along in your

own Bible, and then I'll pray, and that's it. Today is October 13th, and I'll be reading Matthew

chapters 21 through 23. And this month I am reading from the NRSV Catholic Edition.

Matthew 21. When they had come near Jerusalem and had reached Bethvege at the Mount of Olive,

Jesus sent two disciples saying to them, go into the village ahead of you, and immediately you

will find a donkey tied and a cult with her, untie them and bring them to me. If anyone says

This took place to fulfill what had been spoken through the prophet saying, tell the daughter of

donkey. The disciples went and did as Jesus had directed them. They brought the donkey and the

cult and put their cloaks on them, and he sat on them. A very large crowd spread their

cloaks on the road and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.

The crowds that went ahead of him and that followed were shouting,

The crowds were saying, this is the prophet Jesus from Nazareth in Galilee.
