ceasefire. Ghazans start returning to their shattered homes, and Israeli forces start pulling back

as part of the tenuous deal to end the war. The Trump administration begins mass layoffs

during the government shutdown. We speak with

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries about Democrats' response.

This is just a continuation of the chaos, the crisis, and the confusion that we've seen

during the entirety of the Trump administration. We're going to continue to stay the course

as Democrats.

and Palestinians and Israelis are saying tonight,

they hope this ceasefire will prove to be the end of the war. Israeli troops repositioned inside

Gaza and are preparing for Hamas to release the Israeli hostages promised for early next week.

And as Nick Schifrin reports, Palestinians use the respite from relentless bombing to start picking up the pieces.

On Gaza's coastal road today, it's time to go home, even if their destination is beyond recognition.

Tens of thousands all displaced multiple times for two years headed north to

Gaza City as the ceasefire took effect.

God willing, this will be the last war we see. There is nothing left of us.

They walked, rolled, were pulled, traveled by any means necessary, hoping they were driving toward peace.
