The Dallas Morning News reports that on Saturday, October 26th, two men were killed and 14 more

were injured when a gunman opened fire inside a Halloween party near the Commerce campus of Texas A&M.

The Tork or Treat Halloween party was held at the party venue, a space which is 8,000 square feet

and can hold up to 500 guests. It was not an officially sanctioned A&M event despite taking

place during the school's homecoming weekend. The party was thrown by a local organization called

Good Fellows, which counts A&M students among its members. The attendance were in their late

teens and early 20s and many of your students at the Commerce campus. The shooting took place at

12.05 a.m. Hunt County deputies were already at the scene, having responded to complaints about

illegally parked cars. They were in the process of interviewing an intoxicated guest outside the

front entrance when they heard the sound of gunshots coming from the back of the building.

Just inside the back entrance to the venue, they found the bodies of two young men and the wake

of the gunshots, the party descended into chaos as guests attempted to flee by whichever way possible.

Some escaped via the windows and were injured by broken glass. There was a stampede by the front door.

The tumult was captured in a cell phone video taken at the scene. 750 people are estimated to have
