| 0:17.8 | You know, coral reefs are important for a couple of reasons. |
| 0:20.8 | They protect coastlines from storms |
| 0:23.2 | and they're an important part of the oceanic food chain. |
| 0:26.8 | We talked about this on the show back in July |
| 0:29.4 | about how South Florida's waters reached abnormally high temperatures |
| 0:33.8 | some over a hundred degrees Fahrenheit this summer. |
| 0:36.6 | And it turns out, as you might have guessed, |
| 0:39.0 | that these high temperatures are not good |
| 0:41.4 | for the health of the coral. |
