The The In 1970 British director Ken Russell made a film called The Devils. A film based on a non-fiction book by Aldous Huxley documenting the rise and

fall of a Roman Catholic priest who was executed for witchcraft following the supposed possessions of sexually repressed

nuns in a village in France. When the film arrived in cinemas in 1971 it was met with shock and

However, nearly 50 years on, the film is now almost universally praised as a horror masterpiece and
