And let's get into the Word of God.

On Sunday mornings, we're going through 2nd Corinthians now, chapter by chapter, verse by verse.

And we're going to begin in chapter 7, and our text will be the first 7 verses, verse 1 through 7.

What I'll have you do, if you're able, if not that's so right.

But please stand, you can follow along as I read.

The Apostle Paul by the Holy Spirit is writing to the Church in Corinth and says verse 1.

Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

Make room for us in your hearts, verse we have wrong no one we have corrupted no

one we have exploited no one I do not say this to condemn you I have said

before that you have such a place in our hearts that we would live or die with you.

I have spoken verse 4 to you with great frankness.

I take great pride in you.

I am greatly encouraged in all our troubles.

My joy knows no bounds.

For when you came into Macedonia, we had no rest, but we were harassed at every turn.

Conflicts on the outside, fears within, but God, verse 6, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus, and

not only by his coming, but also by the comfort you had given him.

He told us about your longing for me, your deep sorrow, your ardent concern for me, so that my joy was even greater than ever.

Loving Heavenly Father, would you at this time settle us and enable us to focus our attention upon you and your Word and that which you have for us today in your word.
