What's up, friends, it's E and welcome to this week's episode of Midweek Rise Up. A quick shout

to me. And to be able to see how these episodes are resonating with you just absolutely melts my

heart. So with that said, let's jump into the good news. The word for this week is obedience.

And when we hear this word, we sometimes think of this weird regimented order or compliance

to a specific request or even a law while submitting to another's authority. But what I want to

look at is flexible obedience when it comes to our faith. So here's where I'm going with this. Let's look at the Bible verse in the Book of Numbers, chapter 9, verse 23. It says, at the Lord's command they encamped, and at the Lord's command they set out. First, let me note something in this verse. God commanded them to encamp. Not build a house. This is important to note.

We need to remember when you're following God's plan for your life, do not get married

to your own plans and then start building houses and settling along the journey when

God instead is asking you to temporarily encamp, temporarily be in a tent.

Because we have to keep moving, you guys. There's more to do.

This is not where your ex on the map is. As a child of God, you're to be led by the spirit of God.

As it is written in Proverbs 3.6, God will direct the paths of those who in all their ways

acknowledge him. At the commandment of the Lord, our heart should always move and rest,

saying, Father, your will be done, not mine, not what I think I want, but instead what you know

I really need. And what's cool about this verse is that even though the Israelites were stubborn

while on this journey, which I totally get because they were on their way to the

promised land and didn't want to stop and go and stop and go. We've all been there, where we are on

our way someplace, but we feel like when we take one step forward, then somehow we end up six

steps back and it drives us insane. But the case with this situation is that in all their

journeying, no matter how impatient the Israelites became,

they remain submissive and flexibly obedient to the divine will of God, because there is joy to be
