0:29.5	23 series featuring some of most requested programs from Truth for Life this
0:34.8	past year. Today's message is obedience, evidence of a strong foundation.
0:40.4	Alistair Begg is teaching from the closing verses in Luke chapter 6, where we'll
0:45.7	learn that saying the right religious words doesn't gain us entry into God's
0:51.5	kingdom. What does? Here's Alistair.
0:59.5	Let me summarize the instruction of these few verses in just a sentence. It is
1:06.4	as foolish and dangerous to hear the teaching of Jesus without obeying it as it
1:14.4	is to build a house minus foundations. We have been searched by the instruction of
1:21.4	Jesus contained for us in this sermon which Luke records for us from the
1:26.6	beginning of the 20th verse of the chapter. In the few verses preceding the
1:32.0	20th verse, Luke has identified for us the nature of Jesus congregation in the
1:39.8	delivering of this message. And I want to remind you of the fact that those who
1:44.8	were listening to Jesus comprised according to verse 17 of the chapter, first of
1:50.3	all a large crowd of his disciples and then accompanying them a great number of
1:57.0	people who had come to hear him and with the expectation that they would be
2:03.6	healed of their diseases. And what was it then that Jesus did when he had these
2:09.6	followers before him? Well, he essentially explained to them the basis upon which
2:17.4	men and women might justifiably refer to Jesus as their Lord and Master. He
2:24.9	wanted them to be in no doubt whatsoever what it meant not simply to say that
2:30.3	Jesus is Lord but also to make much of that in their lifestyle too. And so in
2:38.2	the course of the sermon he has provided a number of characteristics that will
