Reach Out: Please include your email and I will get back to you. Thanks! Most of us make commitments. It is a part of living this life. You decide to do something and then you go about getting it one. Jesus said that disciples will do this carefully. And they will keep their word. Some of us take marriage vows. Some bind themselves under oaths. But it is all the same: an agreement to do a thing, or a commitment not to do a thing. It is important that we fulfill o...

Hello, welcome back for Season 2 of the Excel Stillmore podcast.

0:10.1

I am your host, Chris Emerson, and I'm here to encourage you with tips and strategies

0:15.0

to help you deepen your faith, build stronger relationships, and do the most with your life in Christ.

0:23.1

Thank you for joining. Let's get started.

0:31.3

Welcome back. Thanks for joining today. I'm so glad we have this time together.

0:35.9

Today we will be looking at a Bible story, Acts

0:39.1

Chapter 23. It was a specific instance in the life of the Apostle Paul, where he had been detained

0:46.7

in Jerusalem, and a group of Jews had made it their purpose in life to kill him. And we're going to talk about the oath that those

1:49.6

that you compromise and sacrifice other things in order to stand by your word is actually a curse,

1:59.0

it's time to make a change. And so today we need to look at what's the difference

2:04.9

between an oath and a curse. When should we be willing to break it and what does that look like?

2:11.2

I hope that you enjoy the Bible study portion of what we're doing today. I want to make the

2:15.8

scripture a little bit more of a centerpiece

2:18.7

in upcoming episodes over the next several weeks. Part of this grows out of last week's episode

2:25.3

around the sun, where I talked about how we need to get Jesus and His Word and the True Light
