I'm Brian Hyland. This is Rolling Stone Music Now. So one of the biggest tours of the year and one of the

most anticipated reunions ever just made its way very quickly through the United States. Oasis

with the reunion of Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher played just five sold-out stadium shows

in the States, but made a really outsized impact. I have Andy Green

here with me. We're going to talk about that. I'm going to play some very relevant clips from my

own interviews on this podcast with Noel Gallagher and Liam Gallagher from just a few years ago.

And maybe Andy and I will touch on some related topics as well. But Andy, we both

recently saw Oasis. It's been really impressive. This tour, I think, is bigger than the band

themselves expected. I think they're enjoying themselves more than they expected. Everyone's pointing

out the null, who seemed maybe a little uptight at the beginning of the tour is really

loosening up there's the hug at the end there are smiles Liam stage banter is on point

the crowds are absolutely insane it's a real cultural moment i was pretty shocked by it i knew the

tour was selling like crazy but until i got to the Bowl, I didn't quite know the extent of the

mania. People were losing their goddamn minds. I just couldn't believe it was Oasis Mania in America

after all of these years. When nobody cared all that much on their last tour back in 08, it was just

stunning to me. Yeah, a lot has changed since

2008 in America's perception of this band. The number one thing is the songs have passed

the ultimate test, which is the test of time. These songs have only gotten more legendary as time passed on.

Wonderwall became this thing that's like a meme, a joke,

and yet as beloved as a Beatles song at the same time.

Because maybe you're going to be the one that saves me. It's not a joke to me, man. Yeah. But if people will have a laugh at it, feel free. It's a free world, man. But when I sing it, it ain't no joke, man. You know what I mean? That's what I'm saying. You get there. Yeah. I'm doing it for real, and I certainly don't even have to play it on guitar. That's the joke. That's the joke. No, I seriously don't.

My kid knows how to play.
