Welcome to Inklings. I am Emily Bell Freeman, and I'm so excited to welcome you to a space where you and I get to experience a hint of something more together.

This is a community where we lean into discussions that will help us obtain a bedrock understanding of the doctrines of Christ.

And you might have loved this talk or this quote too just because of your mission days,

but it's the one at the very end and he talks about this.

It's this scripture that's going to come from Alma, I think.

Elder Oaks talk was tricky with the footnotes. Did anyone else have trouble with him because they're not in his talk. So you just have to guess what goes with what, at least in my version.

So the scripture says this from the book of Mormon and thus in their prosperous

circumstances. They did not send away any who were naked or that were hungry or that were a thirst

or that were sick and they were liberal to all, both old and young, both bond and free, both

male and female, whether out of the church or in the church.

And there's so many things that I loved about that verse. One of the words was liberal. I'm a big

fan of the word liberal because does it make anyone else think of butter?

I don't you just want to be liberal with your butter?

Like if you're eating a baked potato or a piece of toast?

Is anyone else that personality?

So every time I read that word, I'm always like, oh, I,

oh, hold on, she's coming in from her other account. Let's try this.

And see if it works. Oh. It's almost working. Oh, yay.

Okay. We don't know why. Yay for 20-year-olds.
