On this Wednesday, I recently had to discuss the concept of white privilege with my children

because they were asking about it.

One of them is a freshman in college.

The other is entering law school.

So I told my kids the truth as I always do.

That skin color has held some African Americans back and at times skin color makes life harder

for individuals.

But they, my kids, are not at fault for that.

The bigots are.

And my children are not bigots.

Then I said that the term white privilege is being used to divide Americans.

Finally I told them that they do not have white privilege per se.

They have dad privilege.

And that means that I, as a patriarch of the family, oversee a very methodical and responsible

response to what happens to my children.

And that is the key for success in this country.

Parents drive the prosperity of their children.
