On this Friday, I am digesting a new report from a global tech company that says the average

American checks his or her cell phone 96 times a day that's once every 10 minutes and

a 20% increase from just two years ago.

The data says 18 to 24 year olds check the most.

Now I believe that report because it's obvious many of us are addicted to the cell phone as

it provides pretty much everything we need.

Music, videos, social interaction with other phone users and endless information.

Wanna know the population of Botswana?

Phone check please.

Elvis's middle name?

The cell phone has it all.

Well almost all.

But the phone does not have is empathy.

It is a cold machine and so are a good number of folks who use it.

machine.

Used to be, you'd have to confront a person, face the face in order to insult them and

then you'd risk a karate chop if you did that.

Now you can hide in your basement.
