On this Wednesday morning I am thinking about how the pandemic is going to change things

in America.

In 1970 there was a book called Future Shock that told 6 million copies by basically saying

that innovation would change the world and America.

Well today there is a new Future Shock and most people don't know anything about it.

This contagion, this COVID, going to change all of our lives.

Here's the biggest example.

Pandemic layoffs are going to amount to about 40 million Americans losing their jobs.

And the layoffs give companies a chance to clean house.

Many employees deemed unnecessary or annoying is in the kill zone.

By mid-summer the unemployment rate could be 20%.

And remember in February it was 3.5% a record low.

Now companies understand that laying off older workers can get you sued.
