On this Wednesday, it looks like it's all over for network and cable TV.

The audience is disappearing right before our eyes. No late night comedian draws more

than 2 million viewers. Johnny Carson averaged about 9 million. Cable TV news ratings are way

down, especially CNN. Why? Because it's largely boring. The commentators

are frightened of being twittered to death. They have to be woke. It's the same thing every night.

They put panels on of eight people and you don't know who these people are

and you can't remember what they said 10 seconds after they said it. So people are bailing from

cable TV news. Network news also boring. Nothing creative going on. All three cover the same things in the same way. Why are we

watching? Younger Americans are not watching. They're almost completely gone from TV. My kids watch

nothing. They are glued to their devices. Texting, tweeting, tweeting, shooting zombies, thumbing their thumbs at the

world.

So say goodbye to Hollywood as Billy Joel once sang.

The Fat Lady is also singing.
