On this Monday, I am pondering the growing feud between President Trump and Obama.

The two men do not like each other at all, even though the transition of power in January 2017 was relatively benign.

Some of this is personal.

Mr. Obama will remember that Mr. Trump questioned his birth certificate and supported the bogus Bertha movement.

Mr. Trump, as I report in my book, The United States of Trump, did that to gain political cred among anti-Obama voters.

This week, it seems that someone taped a phone call where Barack Obama disparaged Donald Trump for basically screwing up everything in his opinion.

And that call was leaked to the media hard to believe someone on the phone with a president would do that without securing permission of some kind.

President Trump, of course, never misses a chance to proclaim how incompetent President Obama was in economic and trade matters.

Not to mention Iran, which Mr. Trump does mention all the time that I can tell you.

So this is one bitter situation.

And it's not unique.

Andrew Jackson and John Quincy Adams loathed each other.

So did Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson, who dealt with the Spanish flu pandemic.
