On this Friday, they are having a St. Patrick's Day parade in my heavily Irish town on Long

Island this year.

Take that, COVID.

Folks will wear green masks and they will march six feet away from one another and drinking

that will be frowned upon by people watching the parade.

But the exposition is happening.

So the reason this is so important is not because it's St. Patrick and it's Irish.

That's me.

But for the nation, this is a step towards returning to normalcy.

I don't think many people understand how badly this COVID pandemic has affected American

children, especially if they haven't been in school.

So life is a series of challenges and COVID is the biggest challenge that many kids have

faced in their entire lifetime.

And they get into a pattern and the pattern is now we stay at home and that's not a good

pattern.

Kids got to socialize.

They have to have interaction with teachers and authority figures.

They have to play sports.

They have to get outside.

So to get back to normal, we have to start doing the things that we did in the past.
