| 0:00.0 | Bill O'Reilly here and I'm warming up. Stand by for the O'Reilly update morning edition. |
| 0:08.2 | But first, on this Wednesday, I want to wish everybody a happy St. Patrick's Day because, |
| 0:14.3 | as you may know, I am an Irish American. According to the PBS program Finding Erutes, |
| 0:20.3 | I am 92% Irish, the rest Viking. My mother's people traveled to England from Ireland, got |
| 0:29.2 | on a ship and showed up here shortly after the pilgrims, in fact, one of my ancestors |
| 0:38.1 | founded Charlestown, Massachusetts, just north of Boston. On my father's side, the story |
| 0:45.0 | is a bit more difficult. My ancestors on the O'Reilly side owned two acres of land in |
| 0:52.2 | County, Cabin. Well, when the famine hit in the 1840s, my ancestors could not pay the |
| 0:59.4 | tax to the British Crown to London and they were evicted, thrown off the land. The father |
| 1:08.2 | of the O'Reilly clan, suffered a heart attack and died. The mother and her two twin boys, |
| 1:14.6 | 16 years old, were starving. So she brought them the Galway, put them on a coffin ship, |
| 1:19.8 | where they threw bodies over the side and they arrived in Brooklyn by themselves, two |
| 1:24.6 | 16-year-old boys. There, the O'Reilly clan stayed. My father was born in Brooklyn. So, |
| 1:31.9 | today is St. Patrick's Day. I honor my ancestors. I honor the spirit of the Irish and I hope |
| 1:40.4 | you have a good time. Now this. |
