On this Tuesday, I am thinking about all the African-American children who are experiencing

the current racial strife.

The kids are hearing that their country is a bad place and its presidents and founders

did wicked things.

They're hearing that the American system is unfair and they don't have much of a chance

in life.

Sometimes it seems that grievances are unending and some children surely see themselves as

victims of a white power structure.

Parents can overcome that perception, of course, and many African-Americans are not buying

into America as a horrible place.

But just 12 years ago, the kids weren't hearing this stuff.
