On this Tuesday, perhaps the biggest success of Trump, too, has been shutting down

Biden's open border. An insane policy that will cost Americans' trillions of dollars,

not to mention all the violence from foreign criminals. But President

Trump needs to take one more step if he wants to maximize his problem-solving legacy.

He should implore Congress to pass a tough but compassionate new immigration law. It is long

overdue because both parties exploit the undocumented migrant situation.

Meantime, any serious effort to protect the country from harm has been neglected.

Here's what a new law might contain. Increase green cards, working papers, for specific

industries like agriculture and hospitality.

Corporations would be totally responsible for the health care and other needs of immigrants.

All undocumented people already here would have to register with the Department of Homeland Security within 90 days. Their situations would then be reviewed by immigration judges online.

Humane visas would be issued to folks who deserve them.

If you do not register, immediate deportation.

Finally, a well-defined pathway for foreigners who want to become American citizens.
