On this Tuesday, the first thing the Cuban government did when protesters took to the streets

was turn off the internet.

That's because the world now communicates through cyber space and organizers of anything can

mobilize folks quickly on the net.

Now here in America we have a major problem and that is censorship.

A few very powerful companies can shut down the free flow of information in the USA just

as Havana is doing.

It's a different kind of strategy but the result is the same.

If the company or the government in Cuba doesn't like what you are saying or doing, they

can banish you.

It's not hard.

They did it to the 45th president of the United States.

Now there are times when censorship is absolutely necessary.

You cannot defame another person.

You cannot violate public safety rules.

You cannot threaten anyone.

We all understand that but political expression should not be the subject of censorship whether

it's in Havana or Silicon Valley, California.

Now this.
