On this Monday, it looks like President Trump will be the point man for the Republican

struggle to keep the House and the Senate in 2026, the midterm elections.

He went to Pennsylvania and I expected a bit of specificity on the high prices in America,

but that's not what happened. Mr. Trump held a campaign rally. Yes,

he cited his accomplishments. Yes, he ran down his opposition, the Democratic Party,

but that's what he did in the campaign of 2024.

He didn't change the style to fit the moment.

It's not a criticism.

Donald Trump believes that he and only him can drive people to the midterm voting precincts.

That the individual candidates are not going to do that.

And remember, in 2018, Mr. Trump got whacked.

The Republicans lost the House by a big number.

He's been through this.

So apparently he has said, I am going to take the lead

in the campaign next year.

And that's what will happen.
