0:11.9	On this good Friday, I have taken notice of the decline in religion occurring in the USA.
0:18.8	A new survey says just 48% of Americans actually participate in an organized religion.
0:28.2	Because the lowest number ever recorded in this country.
0:32.9	Now there are a number of reasons why.
0:36.3	Number one, secular values are heavily promoted in the entertainment and news industries.
0:43.0	In fact, often traditional religious Americans are openly mocked.
0:50.4	We all see it.
0:52.1	And that filters down particularly to younger people whose lifestyle and belief systems
1:01.0	are not fully formed.
1:02.8	Two, more and more people do not want to be held accountable for their behavior.
1:09.6	Religion does that.
1:11.0	The concept of sin.
1:13.6	There's always an excuse for wrongdoing, a rationalization.
1:18.0	And third, it's all about me these days.
1:20.7	Is it not?
1:22.0	Nothing higher.
1:23.5	Whatever is good for me is good in general.
1:27.9	Well, that's not what theology says.
1:31.0	Theology says on the Judeo-Christian front, you got to look out for your neighbor.
1:36.7	You got to treat people the way you want to be treated.
