On this Friday, the Supreme Court as rule that Florida cannot implement its own immigration laws because according to the Constitution, that's the job of the federal government.

And it makes perfect sense.

One state, say, Florida, might harshly punish the undocumented, while another,

Paging, California, might let everybody in without restraint. Immigration law is essentially a public

safety situation that has morphed into an ideological battle.

Generally speaking, liberals support humane policies with few restrictions on foreign nationals,

while right-wingers want stringent regulations on who takes up residents in America. This is an ideological battle,

as I mentioned. It really has nothing more to do with public safety because the federal

government is in charge of making the laws. And that's why the Supreme Court throughout the Florida thing.
