Summary

Belinda O’Hooley and Heidi Tidow have an uncanny ability to move you to tears one moment then have you roaring with laughter the next. In summer 2020 they were planning to capitalise on the new found fame caused by having their song “Gentleman Jack” as the theme tune of the hit BBC TV drama based on the life of Anne Lister. But the lockdown put paid to all the touring they’d planned.  So they stayed at home in the beautiful Colne Valley, taking full advantage of the opportunity to enjoy watching their one year old son Flynn grow and learn. On our walk along the canal  (with Flynn in the sling) they share the lullabies they use to soothe him to sleep. They also sing “Colne Valley Hearts” which celebrates the many characters they’ve met in the area and “The Hum” which responds to the noise of a local factory.

who was in the sling all the way through.

0:46.1

So I just had to come to West Yorkshire

0:49.3

to meet Belinda O'Houli and Heidi Tido

and Baby Flynn

0:54.8

and go for a walk in the Coln Valley.

Thank you. Good morning Good morning, Belinda, good morning, Heidi. Good morning, Flynn.

1:31.5

Morning. Flynn's in the sling. You've got the accordion on your back.

1:36.3

I have, yeah. I'm just saying that it feels about the same way as Flynn, but not quite as comfortable.

1:43.4

I don't think I've carried this very much.

1:46.2

You haven't?

1:47.3

Yes, well, thank you very much indeed for bringing it and for carrying it.

1:50.8

And it's been raining, but the rain has just eased slightly now, isn't it?

1:55.6

So I think we're going to have an interesting and a bit damp walk.

2:00.1

Where are we? Tell us where we are, first of all.

2:03.1

Well, we're in the woods in Slawit, which is in Huddersfield.

2:10.9

And Slawitz is not spelt Slawit, is it?
