Hello everybody. Welcome back to Baldwin's Prestige. We're the officially unofficial podcast for everything is prestigious, including the film we're talking about today,

the 2000 satirical historical comedy film by the Cohen brothers, Joel and Ethan.

Oh, brother, where art thou? This is a movie that's loosely based on the Cohen brothers

fragmentary memories of exposure and cultural osmosis to the Odyssey

written by Homer, a 3,000-year-old Greek blind bard.

Blindness is going to be a recurring theme throughout this film. It stars George Clooney,

John Turo, Tim Blake Nelson, among others. Jim, I've seen his movie many times, and I've,

it's always had a place of affection of my heart. If nothing else for the soundtrack, the soundtrack, I mean, my God, we could talk forever

about the soundtrack and the effects it's had on the music industry.

But this is the first time I've watched it.

You know, and I've been aware just because I'm interested in the Eid the Coens about the Odyssey stuff

and some of the other illusions, but this is the first time I studied the film and I'm interested in the Coens about the Odyssey stuff and some of the other

illusions. But this is the first time I studied a film and I'm like flabbergasted. This movie has

got so many layers and can be analyzed from so many different lenses. But yet none of them are a

complete like it like the the end of the day, this film is like an amalgam of things

that came together and made something fantastic,

in my opinion.
