I'm Anna Eliopoulos with your Fox True Crime Minute,

an initial court appearance for a New York City man accused of brutally murdering an elderly

couple. Forty-year-old James McGriff pleaded not guilty to a 50-count indictment including murder,

kidnapping, burglary, and arson. The Bronx man was accused of walking around a Queen's

neighborhood last month, knocking on doors, asking to charge his phone. He eventually pushed

his way into Frank and Marine

Olton's home. Once inside, he tried to transfer funds from their bank account to his,

stole their phones and credit cards, and tortured them before setting their home on fire, killing both.

McGriff then went on a shopping spree with the stolen cards, even going to the movies before being

caught by police

in Times Square. McGriff is no stranger to law enforcement with a 30-year criminal history, including

sexual crimes. He was just released from prison two years ago. There's more on this story at
