Hey everyone and welcome to this episode of the Happy Hour Podcast. I'm your host, Gretchen Karate,

and I'm so excited to record today. I know I say that at the beginning of every episode, but seriously,

I'm in the best mood. We got our day going. It's the morning, good morning, whenever you were

listening to this, good afternoon, good evening. But as you can tell by the title of this episode,

it's just going to be all about New York City. And I'm actually from Upstate New York,

if you guys didn't know that, I feel like as life goes on, the older I get, people know that

less and less. Isn't that so weird as you become an adult? Like if you live different places,

people just think you're from there or you just become that much more separated from your hometown.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about? That just kind of dawned on me how like people would be like,

oh, I don't know you're from Pennsylvania. Oh, you're from Boston, right? You're from Cape Cod,

right? And I'm like, wait, no. I'm from US, but obviously I love these other places too that I've

lived and like feel so close to like Boston. And we'll always feel like home to me because I

went to college here for four years. If you guys know Boston University, I live there for five.

I kind of lived on Cape Cod for hot sack during COVID and I just love it there so much since that's

where my boyfriend grew up or he's from and we're actually potentially trying to buy a house

there one day. So yeah, obviously a level of love Cape Cod. It's like beautiful, perfect,

amazing, wonderful. But I am from up to New York. Oh, and now I live in Pennsylvania. So I feel like

people are now like, oh, you're from outside of Philly, you're from Subway or Philly, you're

Pennsylvania. And I'm like, oh, no, I just like live here now. So I love all these places.

Definitely in Northeast, girly, but I did grow up in Albany, New York, which is like two and a half

hours north of the city. So I would say I am a little bit knowledgeable about New York City.
