0:07.0	At this hour, there are more than a quarter of a million confirmed cases of the coronavirus
0:12.0	just in the United States and in the US at least 6,669

0:19.8	One week ago at this hour, the number of dead was 1,451. The death toll has more than quadrupled
0:26.0	since that in a week. Today, Dr. Anthony Fauchy, the nation's top infectious diseases expert,
0:31.6	is saying that it's going to get much worse before it gets better.
0:35.9	And New York State is of course one of the first areas where we are seeing just how bad it can

0:42.1	Just in that one state, more than 500 people died from
0:45.8	coronavirus in just the last 24 hours, making it the biggest single day
0:50.7	increase in deaths in that state or any state in the United States

0:55.2	The governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, comparing the pandemic to a slow moving hurricane and
1:00.4	in two days on Sunday New York City will run out of ventilators according to
1:06.3	New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio. Today Governor Cuomo acting on that
1:10.4	dire need signed an executive order that will enable the state to take ventilators
1:15.4	and personal protective equipment from places not currently using them.
1:20.8	Mayor DeBlazio also called for the military to mobilize doctors and nurses in
1:25.4	uniform to help ease the strain on New York City's civilian medical personnel as
1:30.4	hospitals continue to be overwhelmed with patients.
