Summary

NXT continued its build to what's shaping up as a strong TakeOver: 36 card, while AEW delivered yet again with the special Fight for the Fallen edition of Dynamite. Host Adam Silverstein -- live on vacation this week -- breaks down both shows, including the simple but extremely effective build to Karrion Kross vs. Samoa Joe and how AEW expertly subverted expectations in The Elite vs. Dark Order match featuring Kenny Omega and "Hangman" Adam Page.

Hey now, we are getting over, and I am Silver King, Adam Silverstein, here to lead you through

0:16.0

these hard times with episode 193 of your favorite professional wrestling podcast. That's right. Getting

0:25.0

over is back once again. And if I sound different, it is because the Silver King is on the road

0:29.8

on vacation, actually, for two days in Naples, Florida. So because I'm on vacation and yet still

0:35.4

finding time generously to bring you this incredible podcast,

0:39.9

I'm going to keep it as brief as I can today.

0:42.9

Of course, I am just kidding, saying all of that.

0:45.3

A reminder here, of course, before we get going, please do not forget to head on over to Apple

0:49.7

podcast, drop a five-star rating and review, let people know how much you love this show.

0:54.0

It's really

0:54.3

Well, today's show is all about NXT and AEW. That's what we do every Thursday here at getting over. So we are going to start with

1:11.7

NXT. We'll roll on to AEW Dynamite Fight for the Fallen. We got plenty to say about both shows,

1:17.6

1:24.2

grabbing a table and chair from underneath and chucking them onto the mat.

1:28.1

Joe said he knew carrying cross was too much of a coward to join him, so he invited general

1:32.1

manager William Regal to the ring. Joe said he knew Regal planned a fire cross, but instead,

1:36.8

Joe opened a notebook that included three papers. His letter of resignation for management,

1:41.6

a talent contract, and a match contract for the NXT title

1:45.2

at NXT Takeover 36. Riegel signed all three papers. They shook hands. And just like that,

1:51.3

we have our storyline and our main event for that show. I loved this because it was just such a

1:55.9

simple segment, really easy piece of booking. And yet it was creative, and it was better than most

2:02.2

main event storylines we get on Raw, just like by direct comparison.
