We're all right, Vanessa. Thank you for joining us. Nice to see you. How are you? You too. I'm very

0:04.2

well. How are you? Yeah, wonderful. Thanks for asking. Maybe you could just start by letting people

0:09.9

know your background. How would you describe what you do? I am a long-form journalist who,

0:16.5

you know, long-form meeting, long magazine articles, who is now a podcaster. So I do like sort of

0:21.8

serial style narrative nonfiction podcasts. Excellent. So there's one of your box blurred lines.

0:30.4

This is quite like an interesting topic. It's a quite an inflammatory one. There's a lot more

0:36.0

of panics surrounding the topics. And then I suppose the easy answer has been for a while on this

0:42.8

sort of thing, you know, the allegation of campus harassment and rapes is just to believe all women

1:14.2

US campuses. I think Barack Obama may have even used it at one point. Right. Okay. And it was sort of

1:22.8

deconstructed by a few people to say that the criteria for what's class as a rape on that

1:27.0

polling day to be quite ambiguous. Obviously, you know more about that than me.

1:31.7

Yeah, I think the issue is that it's all about definitions, right? So what I consider to be

1:37.9

raping may not be what you consider to be rape. So a lot of those statistics use the most

1:43.5

sort of narrow definition of rape. So when they ask, you know, primarily women or when

1:51.9

one identified people, you know, have you experienced these things, they come back with a lot of data.

1:57.5

Now, I mean, my book, Bloodlines is about the idea that the new generation, like the millennials

2:05.1

and Gen Z just have a very different concept of what consent is versus our concept.
