Invidia became the first company to reach a market capitalisation of more than $4 trillion.

The chipmaker has shrugged off concerns over Donald Trump's tariffs and the

rise of Chinese artificial intelligence firms. Shares in the American company rallied by almost

3% on Wednesday before falling slightly. NVIDIA has been on a rapid rise. It only hit a valuation of $1 trillion in

2023. Authorities in South Korea re-arrested Yun Suk Yul, the ex-president who was

impeached and ousted over his short-lived attempt to impose martial law last year. Mr. Yun is already on trial for

insurrection. A special prosecutor issued a fresh arrest warrant on related criminal charges

claiming Mr. Yun could destroy evidence. His lawyers called all the charges groundless.

Donald Trump announced new tariff rates

for more countries on August 1st,

including a 50% levy on Brazil.

In a letter to Luis Inacio Lula de Silva,

Brazil's president,

Mr. Trump cited Brazil's trade policies,

but also its domestic ones.
