NVIDIA's CEO Jensen Wong stated during a recent podcast appearance that he believes artificial

general intelligence, AI designed to equal or exceed human intelligence, has already been

accomplished. Wong suggested that this advance could lead to AI fully managing and operating

companies. Wong stated on computer scientist Lex Friedman's podcast that he believes artificial

general intelligence, also called AGI, has already been achieved.

When Friedman asked how long it would take to reach the AGI benchmark, Wang responded,

quote, I think it's now, I think we've achieved AGI.

Wong's comment appeared to concern the larger AI industry, not specifically in video,

the world's most valuable company propelled by the surge in AI usage among consumers and businesses

alike. Friedman asked if a company could be operated by AGI, to which Wong said,

possible, noting OpenClaw, an open source AI agent

platform designed to run autonomously on behalf of a user. OpenClaw is in the process of being

acquired by OpenA.I. Wong later noted, quote, a lot of people use it for a couple of months,

and it kind of dies away, and quote, saying the odds of AI agents,

quote, building Nvidia is zero percent. High-level AGI is expected to be able to do things like

run organizations or make strategic decisions usually left to humans, with critics raising concerns

over the benchmarks possible harms to public health, human jobs, and more.

The loose definition around AGI has made it difficult to pin down a trustworthy timeline

for its creation in widespread use.

Last month, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman commented to Forbes that, quote, we basically have

built AGI or very close to it.
