Choppy visions pass in his mind of a man with big eyes on a computer monitor, they're talking about replacements starting… something about polaticians talking funny…Basil watches the battle, seeing the Canary Hydra return to its purch and the ominous form sink away he acts quickly pulling off his mask and grabbing a bathysphere he dons a dove suit and plunges into the icy deep, he won't leave his friend again.

The Sentinel: Basil continues to cruise around the rink, talking and smiling with those he passes by. Some alpha-bois start to slander him. "That beefy-beta thinks he owns the place!" Basil ignores them, instead helping a new roller skater back to their feet. Johnny Kael watches with great interest, studying his enemy. He feels angry because of the embarrassment he suffered by Basil; yet he can't help but notice there is something powerful about the way he treats others. Something he's never seen before. For the rest of the night the alpha-bois leave Basil alone. At 3:22 AM, long after everyone had left the House of Skatin'… the alpha-bois gather in the shadows of the roller rink. A table is brought out. They scribble words onto paper. Sharing ideas and making suggestions. Whispering. They all come to an agreement. Holding the scroll, Johnny says, "This is how we beat him."
