Health officials in Gaza say some hospitals have resumed care in the northern part of the

region, but as NPR's Jason DeRose reports, the Health Ministry says it's also working to evacuate

numerous people from the enclave to seek medical attention.

The Ministry of Health says more than 5,300 wounded and sick people are facing more serious and complex medical conditions than can be handled in Gaza.

The World Health Organization is working to get those people treatment abroad.

The Ministry of Health says medical care inside Gaza comes at great risk to doctors and nurses because of continued Israeli strikes near health care facilities.

Meanwhile, the UN says only 103 trucks with food and medical supplies were able to enter

Gaza Saturday, a number it calls woefully inadequate.

Prior to the war, each day, about 500 trucks brought food, water, medicine, and other supplies

into Gaza.

A brutal eight-month war for control of Sudan has devastated much of the country and left a worsening

humanitarian crisis.

More than 6 million people have been displaced and medical services have been crippled

by the ongoing fighting

while talks scheduled between the two warring sides this week

have again been delayed.
