23 years ago the US set out on one of the most ambitious environmental projects

ever attempted to wind back the clock and make the everglades function like it once did.

The plan could have given Florida a 20-year head start on climate change,

but that didn't happen.

Listen to WL Department has announced 250 million dollars in military aid to Ukraine the

munitions, weapons, and other equipment to counter Russian advancement.

Though this latest military aid package includes $250 million, it falls well short of the 61 billion dollars the White House had

requested. Republicans refused to approve that request until an agreement could

be reached with Democrats to tighten security along the US border with Mexico.

In a statement, Secretary of State Anthony Blinkin said its imperative that Congress

act swiftly and as soon as possible to advance US national security interests by helping Ukraine defend itself and secure its future.

Israeli and Palestinian leaders are considering a proposal put forth by Egypt to end the war in

Gaza.

NPR's Daniel Estrin reports, the plan also seeks a path toward new Palestinian leadership.

NPR obtained a copy of the Egyptian proposal from a Palestinian official.

It calls for a temporary ceasefire, more aid to Gaza, freeing Israeli hostages in Gaza and

Palestinian detainees in Israel, and a path to ending the war.

Israeli leaders discuss the proposal this week, but they say the war will last many more months.

Palestinian officials are expected to visit Egypt to discuss who will rule Gaza and the West Bank after the war.
