Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited his country's troops in Gaza just hours after

health officials there say an airstrike killed dozens of people in a crowded neighborhood.

According to the Associated Press, almost 70 people were killed in the bombing,

and Pierce Carey Khan has more.

This was Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's second

known trip to Gaza. Despite being under growing international pressure, including

from the US, Netanyahu said fighting would quote, deepen and Israel will fight until Hamas is destroyed.

At least 17 Israeli soldiers died over the weekend,

one of the bloodiest death tolls for the troops since Israel went into Gaza following Hamas's attack on October 7th that killed 1,200.

According to Gaza's health ministry, more than 20,000 Palestinians have died,

and late Sunday it says Israel bombed the

alma gazzy neighborhood in central Gaza many of the dead had fled to the area

seeking safety. Israel says it is reviewing the incident.

Iran State media says a senior member of the Revolutionary Guards

has been killed by an Israeli airstrike just outside the Syrian capital of Damascus.

Tasnim News Agency reported that Saeed Rosie Musavi was one of the oldest advisors of the

IRGC in Syria and was responsible for coordinating the military

alliance between Damascus and Tehran. The BBC's Faram Gobbadi has more.

Sayad Razzi Musevi was such an important senior revolutionary guards commander in Syria that

Iranian State TV interrupted this program to announce his death.
