Secretary of State Anthony Blinkin says he wants to see Israel continue to pause fighting in Gaza.

His comments come as Hamas has released more Israeli hostages and Israel has freed more Israeli hostages. He visited Israel in the West Bank

today on the seventh day of the temporary truce as we hear from NPR's Michelle Kellerman.

Secretary Blinken came here with an immediate goal to extend the pause as long as possible to get more

hostages reunited with their families.

He's also cautioning Israel to have a plan to protect Palestinian civilians in Gaza when the fighting resumes.

We discuss the details of Israel's ongoing planning and I underscore the imperative

the United States that the massive loss of civilian life and displacement of the scale that we saw

in northern Gaza not be repeated in the south.

Lincoln says he believes Israel can do that and still meet its objectives to make sure Hamas no longer runs Gaza or has the capacity

to carry out an attack like it did on October 7th.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Wittmer signed several election laws today.

One of the laws the Democratic Governor approved involves new rules on campaign ads that make

use of artificial intelligence technology.

Michigan Public Radio's Rick Pluto reports Michigan is the fifth state to pass laws that regulate

AI in elections.

The new law requires campaigns to prominently flag ads that make significant use of AI.
