A federal judge has dismissed the indictments against former FBI director James Comey

and New York Attorney General, Letitia James, saying the appointment of Lindsay Holligan,

who secured the indictments, was invalid because she was unlawfully appointed.

In a video on his Instagram account, Comey says he's grateful

the court ended the case. I know that Donald Trump will probably come after me again,

and my attitude is going to be the same. I'm innocent. I am not afraid. And I believe in an

independent federal judiciary. The cases were dismissed without prejudice,

meaning the Justice Department may be able to bring those cases again.

Olegon is a former insurance attorney who once served as Trump's personal lawyer

before becoming a White House aide.

Trump tapped her to serve as acting U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia

after he pushed the previous top prosecutor out

who had expressed doubts about bringing the charges.

Venezuela is rejecting a U.S. plan to designate the country's president

and several military officers as members of a foreign terrorist organization.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio designated the so-called

Cartel de los Soles as a foreign terrorist organization for its alleged role in drug trafficking.

The Trump administration says that the cartel is made up of high-ranking Venezuelan military officers

and led by President Nicolas Maduro.

The Venezuelan government is rejecting the designation today, calling it a, quote, ridiculous fabrication
