The search for a Republican nominee for the Speaker ship continues after the party's latest pick,

GOP Whip Tom Emmer, dropped out today because he says he didn't have the votes needed.

Per the House Republican Conference Chair, a candidate forum is underway yet again.

The House has been without a speaker for three weeks after former Speaker Kevin McCarthy was ousted.

Today he addressed the divisions keeping the House from getting a new leader.

Every single nominee that they selected has been able to do this job.

The challenge that we have here is these eight Republicans. Referring there to the 8 led by Florida Congressman Matt Gates who voted him out of the Speaker's chair.

The GOP holds the House by a small majority so any Speaker candidate will need nearly all Republican House

members to vote for them. Among those in frame now, Deputy Whip Mike Johnson of Louisiana,

though with three failed efforts to get a nominee who can

garner the votes, the next steps are not clear. Israel's ambassador to the

United Nations is calling on Secretary General Antonio Guterresch to step down after comments Guterish made saying Israel

should pull back its bombing campaign in Gaza so that civilians can

get the help they need.
