A major attack in Beirut tonight, Israeli airstrikes hit buildings in

central Beirut Lebanon's health ministry says at least 22 people were

killed over a hundred wounded with the death toll expected to rise and

PRS Jain Iraq reports from the Lebanese capital.

The airstrikes Thursday evening collapsed a building in the center of the capital.

According to the Associated Press, the target was unclear.

Earlier in the day, Israel issued warnings for people to leave another Beirut neighborhood,

saying they were targeting Hezbollah sites.

Hezbollah and Israel have been exchanging fire across the border since the war in Gaza began a year ago.

In September, an Israeli airstrike killed Hassan Nasrula, the leader of the militant Lebanese group.

Since then, Israel has intensified its attacks in Beirut and southern Lebanon.

More than 2,000 people in Lebanon have been killed since the start of the conflict and more than

a million have been displaced.
