Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro says it's a tragic and devastating day.

A total of five police officers were shot today, three of them fatally,

as they followed up on an investigation that authorities say was domestic-related.

Grieve for the loss of life, for three precious souls who served this county,

served this Commonwealth, and served this country. We continue to pray for the full recovery of those

who are dealing with their wounds. The shooting happened in south central

Pennsylvania in York County, not far from the Maryland line. Officials say the two wounded officers

are listed in critical but stable condition and that the shooter was killed by police. Earlier

today in Pittsburgh, authorities took a suspect into custody after a driver rammed a car into security gates at the city's FBI building.

Former CDC director Susan Menares was on Capitol Hill today telling members of a Senate panel her side of events that led to her firing.

She said she was ousted because she refused to go along with Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s demands on vaccines and other

issues. MPR. Selina Simmons-Duffin kept tabs on the hearing. She reached out to this Senate committee

expressing concerns about what she was being asked to do, and Kennedy found out. He told me,

he could not trust me. And I told him if he could not trust me, he could fire me. HHS spokesperson

Andrew Nixon sent me a statement. He denied that changes to the childhood vaccine schedule are

already decided. He said, quote, Susan Menares was tasked with restoring the CDC to its core

mission after decades of bureaucratic inertia, politicized science, and mission creep eroded

its purpose and squandered public trust, and she refused to do it.

The Vaccine Advisory Committee that Kennedy revamped is to open a two-day meeting in Atlanta

tomorrow to vote on new guidelines. Leading artificial intelligence chat pot, chat GPT,

says it's creating a version for users who are under 18.
