Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Corva Coleman, House Republicans argue the ongoing

investigation of Hunter Biden, the president's son, is proof that Congress needs to continue

its probe and potentially consider impeaching the president.

House Oversight Chairman James Comer says that the judge putting Hunter Biden's plea

deal involving tax charges and firearms offense on hold shows that the prosecutor is still

reviewing issues regarding business deals, something he's looking at.

At the end of the day, I'm investigating Joe Biden.

Hunter Biden's the subject of that investigation because I think the president used his son

to launder all this money.

House Republicans have not corroborated any allegations about any payments involving

president Biden.

But House Speaker Kevin McCarthy says these issues could trigger an impeachment inquiry.

Democrats say this is about politics, and impeachment is designed to divert attention

from former President Trump's legal problems.
