Attorney General Pam Bondi has filed a formal request for a federal judge to release grand jury testimony related to Jeffrey Epstein.

As NPR's Anastasia Siloukis reports,

President Trump is continuing to distance himself from the disgraced late financier.

President Trump and Attorney General Bondi have now both called for a federal judge to release grand jury testimony in the case of Jeffrey Epstein,

who was accused of sexually trafficking children.

The move comes after intense criticism from both Democratic and Republican lawmakers

and from rank-and-file MAGA supporters.

Trump denies he had any involvement in the allegations against Epstein,

who died in jail in 2019

while awaiting trial. The president has filed a $10 billion defamation lawsuit against the

Wall Street Journal after the journal published a report saying that in 2003, Trump had written a

birthday card for Epstein that included sexually suggestive language and a lewd drawing.
