policies, though, with some shifts. In general, Trump gets better marks on immigration than other

things. There was a CBS poll out this week that found 54% approve of Trump's deportation policies. We should say that that was

conducted last week and didn't specifically ask about the situation in Los Angeles. And there

was a Quinnipiac poll out today showing the opposite with 56% disapproving of his deportation

policies. Protest, meanwhile, have spread across the country as people react to the site of

National Guard troops on the streets. California Governor Gavin Newsom and L.A. Mayor Karen Bass have raised questions

about using the military and enforcement of Trump's immigration policies. Trump, meanwhile,

has called for the deployment of 700 Marines in Los Angeles. The U.S. is pulling non-essential

staff out of Iraq and other parts of the Middle East due to the potential for regional unrest.

It comes as President Trump signals he's not optimistic about nuclear negotiations with Iran.
