As President Trump mulls over the deal to end the U.S. war in Iran,

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegeseth repeated Trump's stance on the war to those gathered at a key Asian defense summit in Singapore today.

MPIR's Jennifer Pack has more.

He repeated what President Trump has already said, that the president is patient and will only strike a deal if it's a good one, and that's defined as one that ensures Iran doesn't get a nuclear weapon.

He also said that the U.S. is ready to resume strikes on Iran if no deal is reached.

the summit comes amid concerns about China's military posture,

especially toward Taiwan.

This is Hegeseth called on Asian allies to ramp up military spending

to counter China's, quote, historic military buildup,

though he didn't mention Taiwan.

This comes some two weeks after Trump's state visit to China with leader Xi Jinping. President Trump's doctor recommends

he lose weight and exercise more. But his NPR's Franco-Ordofornia's reports, the doctor also says

the president is in excellent health. President Trump, who turns 80 in June, remains

fully fit to carry out all his duties as commander in chief. According to a medical report released

late on Friday by the White House, it says Trump is in, quote, excellent health, demonstrating strong

cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical

function. This was Trump's third trip to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in the

past year. The White House characterized Tuesday's visit as a routine annual physical, but Trump's

age, swollen ankles, and bruised hands have raised questions about
